SUMMER DECORATING
Time for Summer - So Lighten Up!
And if I know Summer (boy, do I know Summer! I live in Florida) it's gonna be a scorcher!
So, you might want to put away the heavy stuff, including colors, and lighten it up. You can change throw rugs, window treatments, linens, pillows and accessories to a much lighter and airier feel. Use sheers and lightweight fabrics at windows. Cotton fabrics on pillows cools things off. Wicker furniture and other white pieces help.
It gives the sense of coolness...lighter, brighter or cool colors and fabrics, even artwork can change the atmosphere. You may even want to change out a wall color, an inexpensive way to totally change a room.
Bring the outdoors in. Fresh flowers and plants, garden statues and furniture give the feel of being outside without being in the heat.

Country Christmas in July
Well, bite my tongue! I hate to bring this up but...in less than 6 months we will be getting ready for Christmas for 2009. Please don't yell at me...yep, I can hear you! "AaaHHHHHH!"This is the time of year we should be thinking of how we will be decorating for the season. Get a plan now and you won't be stressed during the holidays.
And I'm calling all crafters and artists. Start getting ideas for items you can enter in our "Country Christmas Fair" at Country Charm Interiors. Please let me know if you would like to participate. I will send you ideas for items that are simple in design and fairly simple to construct.
You can also enter vintage items not made by you.
